Frequency

When it is humid in the library, it will impact the paper supply in the printers and increase the frequency of paper jams. Wear and tear on internal parts could also lead to increased paper jams. If you notice multiple jams on the same device, please put up a generic out of order sign and alert Amber. Amber will coordinate service calls with Xerox. 

Clearing Jams

The printers have pretty easy to follow on-screen directions with images on how to clear the jams. Most jams will have several different steps. If a jam is particularly bad or cannot be cleared, put an Out of Order sign on the printer. These are available at the Circulation Desk. You should also email Amber that the printer is down from a paper jam that could not be cleared.
