Off-Campus Access

Learn about accessing Ely Library's resources while off-campus, and how to troubleshoot common connection issues.

Off-Campus Access to eResources

Ely Library's databases, e-journals, e-books, and other electronic resources can be accessed from any computer on the campus network. However, remote access (i.e., off-campus access) to many of these resources is restricted due to license agreements with vendors and publishers. To access these resources from off-campus, you must first verify your “online identity” as a member of the Westfield State University community, specifically as a current student, staff member, or faculty member.

Login Credentials

When prompted, enter your Westfield State University login credentials on the University login screen. Please note that passwords are case-sensitive.

Once logged in, you can generate persistent links to specific content, such as articles or streaming media, for future access. Persistent links can be saved or embedded into curse syllabi, PLATO, works cited, bookmarks, etc. as preferred.

Use Ely Library's Links

Ensure you are accessing resources through links provided on Ely Library's website such as the library's homepage or Databases list, our Journals list, and/or Westfield on WorldCat Catalog.

Friendly Tip: If you have embedded library resource links into course syllabi, PLATO, works cited, bookmarks, etc. it is always good practice to check that the embedded permalinks are current.
