Learn about accessing Ely Library's resources while off-campus, and how to troubleshoot common connection issues.

Reporting a Library Web Access Issue

Librarians are able to assist with troubleshooting webpage and/or e-Resources access issues. When you contact the library for troubleshooting help, please include the following information in your report:

  1. Copy and paste the exact error message from the webpage.

  2. The name of the webpage where the error occurs.

  3. Provide the exact steps that you are taking to access your resources (ex: link from PLATO? Syllabus? Library's website?) and the error you are encountering. Please include screenshots, if you are able.

  4. The web browser name (i.e. Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge), if applicable.

  5. The operating system name (i.e. Windows 10, Mac OSX), or device type (ex: iPhone, tablet, etc).

Please understand that it may take some time to properly diagnose and troubleshoot the issue, especially if library staff needs to consult with our vendors. Ely Library is happy to suggest alternate databases and resources in the meantime.
