Repository Collections

Resources within Ely Library's Digital Repository are currently organized into four top-level collections:

  • Images
  • Research and Scholarship
  • Yearbooks
  • Historical Journal of Massachusetts

See below for a breakdown of each of these collections.

Images

The Images Collection is currently home to a variety of digitized photos from the Westfield State University Archives. This collection consists mostly of photographs of notable Westfield figures, including many former principals.

Research and Scholarship

The majority of the scholarship submitted to the Repository from students, staff, librarians, and faculty members will belong in this collection. This scholarship is broken up into 4 subcategories: CURCA, Faculty Scholarship, Graduate Student Scholarship, and Honors Projects.

The Repository can accept the following work from current or former WSU Staff, Librarian, or Faculty Member:

  • pre-and post-publication papers
  • technical reports
  • books
  • lectures and presentations
  • datasets
  • creative works

In order to be uploaded to the Repository, student work must fall under one of the following categories:

  • Graduate Capstone/Thesis
  • Undergraduate Capstone/Thesis
  • Commonwealth Honors Project (CHP)
  • Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity (CURCA) Project
  • Student Summer Research Fellow (SSuRF) Project

Yearbooks

The Repository also includes a complete digitized run of Westfield's yearbook known as the "Tekoa" which was published annually from 1923 to 2001. This collection also contains digitized copies of the Westfield Normal and the Westfield Normalite which were published prior to the Tekoa. The yearbooks are organized on the Repository website based on year of publication.

Historical Journal of Massachusetts

A complete run of the Historical Journal of Massachusetts is also available in the Digital Repository. Issues are organized into folders by year of publication and then broken down further into sub-folders based on issue volume and number. Articles from each issue can be read and downloaded individually on the Repository website.
