Understanding Author's Rights

Does publishing my work through Westfield State University’s Digital Repository impact my ability to publish elsewhere?

Authors retain ownership of the copyright for submitted works, and publishing a work in the Repository does not impact your right to publish elsewhere. As long as your work is eligible for inclusion, publishing your work in the Repository can help to increase your visibility, and bolster your profile!

Can I deposit a co-authored work to Westfield State University’s Digital Repository?

Westfield State University faculty, librarians, and staff should consult with their co-authors and arrange for their permission before submitting to the Repository. You should only deposit a work if you have permission from all copyright holders to place the work in the Repository.

Can I restrict access to my documents?

The digital repository does not offer access restrictions (i.e., embargo option) at this time.
