The Joseph B. Ely Library is pleased to partner with the Westfield Athenaeum to provide limited borrowing privilges to Westfield Athenaeum library card holders. This access is intended as a supplement to the Athenaeum's services and collections, to provide access to academic materials that the Athenaeum may not hold. The Westfield Athenaeum provides library cards to Westfield State University students, regardless of their permanent address. This collaboration enriches both the University and Westfield communities. This effort supports that part of the University's Mission to "to contribute to the economic, social, and cultural vitality of the region" and "supporting civic engagement in local, regional and global initiatives".
Athenaeum members are welcome to use Ely Library's databases in the building. Computer use is limited in order to preserve access for our students, faculty, and staff. Athenaeum members must seek interlibrary loan service and at-home database access through the Athenaeum.
To borrow materials from Ely Library, Westfield Athenaeum members must fill out an application (see link below). Bring the application to Ely Library in person, along with photo ID and proof of address. You will not be issued a new card. We will use your Westfield Athenaeum card.
The library does not offer printing for community patrons.
