For Students: What are Course Reserves during COVID?

Normally, course reserves are items your professor has put in the library just for your class. However, due to current limitations on sharing physical materials, we are unable to offer reserves in the traditional manner. Instead, some professors have chosen to put material on reserve in the library, allowing students to request digitization of certain sections as needed. If you are unsure whether your professor reserved materials, please contact your professor and be sure of access before proceeding.

How to request digitized reserve material from the library:

Email Be sure to include the following information:

  • Your name
  • Professor's name
  • Course prefix and name
  • Item title
  • Section/chapter(s) to be digitized.

When the request is complete, it will be emailed to your Westfield email address. We will not accept requests from or send requests to any other email address. Please allow 3-5 days for request fulfillment.

Important Information!

  • You must use your Westfield email to make a request.
  • Your request will take 3-5 days to process.
  • We cannot fulfill requests for material your professor has not reserved. BE SURE your professor reserved material before using this process.
  • Due to both staffing and copyright limitations, we cannot digitize an entire book.
