The Family History Project, 1977 – 1983

 

Historical Sketch

From 1977 until 1983 family genealogies were created by students in Dr. Stephen Sossman’s Freshman English classes. Dr. Sossman taught World Literature and English Composition 101. During this period family genealogies were also created for Dr. Martin Kaufman’s students in his United States History and Government classes as well as Dr. John Ifkovic’s United States History and Government Classes. These family genealogies were donated to the University Archives by the students.

Description

There are 4 cartons of material in this collection. The materials included in this collection are family genealogies written by students. There are a few photographs that are included in some of the student work as well as genealogy charts and family tree charts. There are also copies of marriage records and applications for citizenship here.

 Arrangement

These family genealogies were kept in the original arrangement. They are loosely grouped by class.

 Access must be in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Please see the Technical Services Supervisor for guidance concerning these records.
