IMPORTANT! READ THIS BEFORE TRYING TO LOGON.
All students, faculty, and staff must
logon with the User Name and Password that is used for access
to the university's network and email account. For example:
Student Logon:
User Name:
(first initial, last name and last 4 digits of College-Wide ID [CWID] as
one word all in lower case).
Example: bsmith5678
Password:
(Full CWID, including the alphabetic prefix) Example: A12345678 (or the password used for your university email account).
Faculty & Staff Logon: Enter the User Name and Password that is used for access to your college email account.
The following information is intended as a brief guide to assist you
in accessing our databases. Please read the information before your
first use.
Requirements: You need the following:
1. You are a registered Student, or a member of the Faculty or Staff
at Westfield State University.
2. You have Internet access using at least Internet
Explorer 6 or FireFox 3.5 as a browser.
3. Your browser must be set to accept cookies. See Below for directions
for setting browsers to accept cookies.
Setting Your Browser to Accept Cookies
- Internet Explorer 6.x & up
- Open the Tools Menu
- Select Internet Options
- Click Security
- Click on Custom Levels
- Set both settings to enable cookies
- Accessing the Databases:
- Open your browser and go to the URL: http://lib.westfield.ma.edu/quicklinks.html . This URL goes through the college's network and takes you to the Database Menu page.
- Click on the database that you wish to use. You will be asked to logon.
- Enter the logon information as requested on the screen:
- Please enter your UserName: first initial, last name and last 4 digits of College-Wide ID, example: bsmith5678
- Please enter your Password: Enter your FULL college wide ID number - Alphabetic prefix + 8 digits. Example A12345678
- press Login.
- If the logon is successful, you will be taken to the database that you clicked. With a single, successful login, you will be able to access any database listed on the Quicklinks page.
- Please remember to logoff the database when you are finished.
Databases Available:
You can determine which databases are available by going to the URL
shown below.You will not be able to access databases from this page until
you have logged on successfully. http://lib.westfield.ma.edu/dbalpha.html
