America:  History & Life - ABC-CLIO                  Updated Quarterly
Provides citations to over 1,700 journals published worldwide including selected historical journals from major countries, state and local history journals, as well as a selection of journals in the social sciences and humanities relating to the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. All abstracts are written in English and are carefully edited for clarity and precision.  The database provides full-text links to many journal articles in Project Muse, JSTOR, Ebsco, and other full-text databases in our collection. In addition to articles, America: History and Life includes citations of book and media reviews from a selection of over one hundred key journals in US and Canadian history as well as related fields. Historical Abstracts - ABC-CLIO                  Updated Quarterly
Provides historical coverage of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada) by providing citations to over 1,700 journals, books, and dissertations published worldwide in over forty languages. The database provides full-text links to many journal articles when they are available in linked databases. Historical Abstracts is committed to covering every significant historical journal published anywhere in the world, as well as journals with historical content published in closely related social science fields. U.S. History in Context (formerly History Resource Center: U.S.) Gale   Updated Monthly
Provides a complete overview of U.S. history with comprehensive coverage of the most-studied events, issues and current information. Coverage includes content that is 50% or more from primary source documents, including monographs, pamphlets, first-person accounts, etc.  Additional content includes documents from Primary Source Microfilm's digital archives; encyclopedic articles from Macmillan Reference USA and Charles Scribner's Sons references; Gale Group proprietary content such as country and era overview information; 119 full-text periodicals and journals; a historical bibliography; and links to digitized special collections.

An index to  letters, diaries, oral histories and personal narrative, this database covers more than 2,500 collections of oral history from around the world. With upcoming releases, the index will broaden to cover other formats and the proprietary content in the Alexander Street collections. Making of America is a collaborative effort between the University of Michigan and Cornell University to provide a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The searchable and browsable collection of 267 monograph volumes and over 100,000 journal articles with 19th century imprint is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology. Making of America (MOA) - University of  Michigan             Current File          Updated Daily
Making of America is a collaborative effort between the University of Michigan and Cornell University to provide a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology. This service covers 1642 free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals covering all subjects and languages. Currently 413 journals are searchable at article level. More than 75,000 articles are included in the DOAJ service. Africana Periodical Literature Bibliographic Database -  University of Arkansas Little Rock  1974 -
This English language database contains 55,000+ articles indexed from 462 English language and multi-lingual journals and periodicals that specialize in African Studies or consistently cover the African continent. The titles were originally chosen from the library at California State University-Chico and that number were later expanded by using materials from Northwestern University and other major university libraries as well as the Library of Congress.

This searchable and browseable database provides online access to World War II publications published by the U.S. government in support of the war effort. Noteworthy items include "Pocket Guides" to foreign nations prepared for U.S. servicemen.

Provides full-text and full-image articles for newspapers dating back to 1851. The historical collection includes digital reproductions of every page from every issue--cover to cover--in downloadable PDF® files. Women and Social Movements in the U.S.: Scholar's Edition - Alexander Street Press   1600-2000        Updated Annually
Provides the full text of books, images, documents, scholarly essays, commentaries, and bibliographies, documenting the multiplicity of women's reform activities. The Scholar's Edition includes 74 document projects with 2,200 documents, 29,000 pages of additional full-text documents, and 1,600 primary authors. It includes as well book, film and website reviews, notes from the archives, and teaching tools. Covers 1600-2000. The Scholar's Edition adds an important new resource: The Women's Commission Reports collection is an archive of the publications and documents of local, state, and federal Commissions on the Status of Women from 1963 to the present. The full text of 590 reports and publications issued by commissions in more than thirty states are available currently. When complete this collection will contain 75,000 pages of publications from commissions in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands. The publications include reports, pamphlets, posters, and ephemeral materials.
