When you look up a book in our catalog, you'll be given a "call number" for that book. Call numbers are on the spine labels like you see in the picture. This is how we keep the books in order on the shelf.
The range of call numbers for each stack floor is on a chart in the elevator.
If your call number or item location starts with REF, it is in the Reference Section on the main floor.
If your call number or item location starts with ERC, it is in the Education Resources Center collection on the main floor.
Here is a link to tell you what subjects are found under each call number heading. For example, call numbers that start with "QC" are books about physics. Anything that starts with "GV" is about sports and games.
You can also use this chart to see which call numbers are on certain floors at the library.
